About me
Hello! Welcome to my space. My name is Elizabeth, my pronouns are she/her, and I’m a birth and postnatal doula, which means I can support you before, during and after birth, as your family evolves. I live close to the seaside in Hampshire with my husband and our four children, and if you want me you’ll probably find me at the beach with a cup of tea!
I first dipped my toe into the birth world when I was expecting my second child in 2013, and started running perinatal support groups in 2015. You can still find me volunteering regularly with Informed Pregnancy Birth and Beyond. In 2024 I decided to take the plunge and formalise my doula practice, though I have been offering informal support for many years.
I really like to read around my subject, so if you are looking for a book or resource recommendation on a topic I’m your girl! You will find book reviews in the blog section of this website. I also love to improve my practice through listening to people’s lived experiences, especially the voices of vulnerable groups, and you can find some of the training I have done listed at the bottom of this page. I have particular interests in the experiences of neurodivergent people, perinatal mental health, and infant feeding. I have undertaken a lot of training to be able to provide informed care. I am strongly motivated to provide a safe space for people to explore their own unique journeys into parenthood.
Who am I as your doula? I’m the doula who brings the calm to your space. The first thing I want is to hear all about you, your family, and what you want and need from your birth and postnatal experience. I will support you to create a plan for your birth and postnatal time that reflects your personal needs and wants, that reflects your personality and situation. I will signpost you to resources that are suitable for you specifically to help you make informed decisions. I will be there for you while you become a parent, until you are confident and flourishing in your parenthood.
